Residential Rentals

Find a home that fits your lifestyle. Explore residential rentals in Greece with local insight and personal guidance from EleFon.GR.

Who it's for

  • People already living in Greece who want a better fit
  • People moving to the city from elsewhere in Greece or from abroad
  • Students looking for a place near their studies
  • Owners who want to let a home long-term

How it works

  1. Tell us what you need

Your budget, the areas you like and how you live day to day. The clearer the brief, the better the shortlist.

  2. We put together a shortlist

We select homes that match your brief and tell you plainly what each one is like.

  3. Visit the homes

We arrange viewings at times that suit you. If you can't attend in person, ask us whether a video viewing is possible.

  4. Apply and share your documents

Once you choose a home, we help you send your application and the documents the owner asks for.

  5. Sign and declare the lease

The lease is signed and the landlord declares it to the tax office through AADE (Taxisnet). You then accept it online, and we show you how.

  6. Move in

We check the condition of the property with you on the day, so everyone agrees on how it was handed over.

What you'll need

Having these ready makes the application quicker and smoother.

  • ID card or passport
  • Greek tax number (ΑΦΜ / AFM)
  • Proof of income or employment (usually asked for)
  • Contact details for transferring the utilities
  • For landlords: the energy performance certificate (ΠΕΑ)
  • For landlords: proof of ownership

Costs

We explain every cost before you commit, and who pays what. Ask us.

Questions tenants ask

Do I need a Greek tax number to rent?

Yes. The lease is declared to the tax office, so both tenant and landlord need a Greek tax number (ΑΦΜ). If you don't have one yet, we explain how to get it.

Can I rent from abroad?

Often, yes. Ask us whether a video viewing is possible, and we'll guide you through the documents you can prepare before you arrive.

How is the deposit agreed?

The deposit is agreed with the owner and written into the lease. We explain the terms clearly before you sign anything.

What is the lease declaration?

Every lease is declared online to AADE through Taxisnet. The landlord submits it and the tenant accepts it with their own Taxisnet login.

Who sets up the electricity, water and internet?

The accounts are usually moved into the tenant's name. We tell you what to arrange and in what order.

I own a home. Can you find a tenant for it?

Yes. We arrange viewings with suitable tenants and guide you through the lease. If you'd like ongoing help, ask about our property management service.
